The Factory x Groove Theatre presents
Perfect Arrangement
June 5-7, 2026
Garfield Center for the Arts
Overview
By Topher Payne
Directed by Joseph Fox
Inspired by real events in 1950s Washington, DC, Perfect Arrangement follows two seemingly traditional married couples whose carefully constructed lives conceal deeper truths. As professional pressures and personal secrets collide, the play navigates love, loyalty, and survival in a time when being oneself carried serious consequences. Warm, witty, and ultimately tender, the story balances humor with emotional depth while addressing themes of identity, intimacy, and societal constraint.
“Perfect Arrangement” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.

About the Director
Joseph Fox is a stage manager and producer involved in the performing arts scene across the Eastern Shore of Maryland since 2018. Born and raised in Dorchester County, he has always had a deep love for the arts. He got his start on stage in productions like Let the Right One In, The Little Mermaid (Groove Theatre Company), Short Attention Span Theatre 2024, and Short Attention Span Theatre 2025 (Garfield Centre for the Arts).
As time went on, Fox found his focus had shifted to working primarily behind the scenes, specifically in stage management, on various projects like Little Red Riding Hood, The Jungle Book, Hedwig & the Angry Inch, Dog Sees God, Alice in Wonderland, Torch Song Trilogy (Groove Theatre Company), Stage Fright 3: Curtain Call, and Never the Sinner (The Factory Arts Project). In June of 2025, he began getting more involved in the roles of directing and lighting design with Groove’s production of Pinocchio.
For their 2025 season, Fox served as Executive Director of Groove Theatre Company, overseeing their return to the stage after a brief hiatus. In September, Groove announced their merger with The Factory Arts Project crowning Fox as their Head of Production. That October, he served as Producer & Lighting Designer in the merger’s first official production, Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy (Groove Theatre) at the historic Avalon Theatre.
Joseph Fox holds a Bachelors of Arts in Theatre Arts from McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College).
