About Us

Find Yourself in the Arts

We are thrilled to share with you: The Factory

The Factory is a dynamic, new, local non-profit performing arts organization built by individuals who share a vision for a new generation of theatre arts on the Mid-Shore of Maryland.

A thriving community theatre in small-town America can provide many benefits, as well as play an important role in cultural enrichment and community life.

Our Mission.

The Factory is a community arts project which provides a safe and creative space for individuals to explore their passion for the performing arts by providing professional expertise and resources.

The Factory is the home to an extensive costume shop, library, and prop & set piece inventory – all available to rent by any member of our community. Classes and workshops will soon be offered regularly, as well as networking events and performance opportunities for local artists. Rehearsal space will be available by appointment in addition to mentorship, apprenticeship, and project development support.

We are a fiscal fund under the umbrella of the Midshore Community Foundation.

Our Vision.

The Factory has successfully navigated its inaugural year, serving as an incubator for the next generation’s artistic needs and pursuits. As we tran-sition into our second season of staged productions, we are excited to unveil our core mission: to become a cornerstone in the community’s performing arts landscape. This proposal outlines our strategic initiatives for growth, engagement, and community impact – beginning with a move to a new home.

"We foster an environment of collaboration and learning - The Factory is a public space for humans to tell stories and express their creativity."

- Cecile Storm, Creative Director

We made it official.

The Factory is led by a Board of Directors, consisting of individuals with expertise in theater education, non-profit management, and fundraising. The day-to-day operations of the organization are run by the Executive Director and a robust roster of volunteers.
