Bernard Pomerance’s stage classic follows John Merrick, a severely deformed man in 1880s London, whose journey from sideshow curiosity to gentleman challenges ideas of humanity, dignity, and compassion. Rarely produced due to the role’s demanding physicality, this riveting production is a powerful showcase of transformation and resilience.
